From a basis in finance, audits are now part of a wide range of activities including environmental impact, health and safety, and ethics to name a few. Quality and regulatory compliance and performance are also determined through audits.
The goal of an audit should be twofold: to determine performance and from the analysis of the audit, identify areas for possible improvement.
